2024-2025 School Year

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid license to drive a school bus, which will include Class B CDL, Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake endorsements. An Oklahoma State School Bus Driver's Certification, which includes attending the School Bus Driver's School. Minimum one year experience as a route driver for Mustang Public Schools. Such additional health and age requirements as the board may require.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Possesses skills to communicate students' needs to parents and school personnel.
4. Report undisciplined students to the building administrator.
5. Work with the bus assistant to keep their assigned bus clean.
6. Keeps to assigned schedule.
7. Check the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
8. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
9. Discharge students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
11. Transports only authorized students.
12. Report all accidents to the Director/Assistant Director and appropriate authorities.
13. Ability to work cooperatively with parents/guardians, district staff, students, and the public.
14. Enforces bus riding regulations established by the Director or the state.
15. Abides by all district policies and state and federal laws.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, or climb stairs.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Ability to support and stabilize students with physical disabilities.

Ability to work in all weather conditions.
