QUALIFICATIONS: Teacher Certification as set by state certification authorities. Master’s Degree preferred. Experience in school leadership preferred.

 

REPORTS TO:  Assistant Superintendents of Elem. & Sec. Education and/or designated administration                

                                                                                                                             

CALENDAR: 190 Days   

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers.
  2. Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators.
  3. Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance and improved classroom environment.
  4. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
  5. Encourage professional growth and provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers.
  6. Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data and culturally responsive practices.
  7. Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum.
  8. Instruct and support teachers with curriculum software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies.
  9. Provide support in analyzing student assessment data.
  10. Support, implement and assess various instructional programs and program effects on student achievement.
  11. Participates in goal/plan setting.
  12. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.
  13. Assist teachers with specific classroom activities when requested.
  14. Provide support for classroom motivation and management strategies.
  15. Monitor intervention programs and student progress by observing and meeting with teachers.
  16. Assists with the RTI process.
  17. Participates in building action planning working toward school goals.
  18. Collaborates with building principals.
  19. Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues.
  20. Model lessons when appropriate.
  21. Manage time and schedule flexibility that maximizes teacher schedules and learning.
  22. Work positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals.
  23. Assist with development of district curriculum, instruction and assessments.
  24. Attend workshops/conferences to learn about new innovative instructional strategies.
  25. Maintain confidentiality.
  26. Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

Number of days and compensation based upon Board approved salary schedule and the employee work calendar.

 

EVALUATION: 

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to stand, walk, squat frequently.

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently.
